Fatherhood Call

A weekly virtual gathering for Black fathers held Tuesdays at 6:00 p.m. Arizona time. Facilitated conversations offer a supportive space for fathers to discuss challenges and triumphs, exchange insight, strengthen relationships, and grow in community. All Black fathers are welcome to listen and contribute.

There is no application, no cost, and no commitment past the hour a father gives it. He can come to vent, to be heard, or to say nothing at all and listen. Some weeks a man brings expertise the room needs. Some weeks he needs what the room has. Both are the point.

The OBFC Project works with young men. The Fatherhood Call is where we work with the men raising them.

Most organizations serving youth engage the child and stop there. A boy spends twelve weeks in a rites-of-passage program, grows, and goes home to a household nobody asked about. The Fatherhood Call is the other half of that relationship. It gives the father a room of his own, every week, among men who understand what he is carrying.

It is also the easiest door into this work. No form, no fee, no cohort to wait for. A father can join on a Tuesday knowing nothing about OBFC and leave knowing the people behind every program on this site.

Conversations are facilitated rather than lectured. The subject is fatherhood and manhood, handled honestly. Come ready to share what you know, or come ready to listen and learn. Both are welcome and neither is required.

The call runs every Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. on Zoom and the link is the same every week. Arizona does not observe daylight saving time, so 6:00 p.m. MST holds year round, which matters for anyone joining from outside the state.
